What we collect
- Enquiries. When you contact us, by the website form or by email. We collect your name, email address, and whatever you choose to include in your message.
- Technical data. Our server keeps standard logs (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) to keep the site running and secure.
- Display preference. Your light/dark theme choice is stored locally in your own browser. It never reaches us. See our Cookie Policy for detail.
We do not use tracking or advertising technologies, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
How we use it, and our lawful basis
- To respond to you and discuss how we might help, on the basis of our legitimate interests in answering enquiries, and to take steps at your request before any contract.
- To run and protect the site on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating a secure service.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your data or share it for marketing. We use a small number of trusted providers who process data on our behalf:
- Microsoft our email(s) under @n8secure.co.uk runs on Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online, so your enquiry is processed there.
- Linode our website and services hosting provider.
We may disclose information where we are legally required to do so.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t become work: up to [12] months.
- Client and financial records: [6] years, to meet legal and tax obligations.
These are sensible defaults and may change on professional advice.
International transfers
Where a provider such as Microsoft processes data outside the UK, that transfer is protected by an appropriate safeguard (for example UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement).
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to our use of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email contact@n8secure.co.uk.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please tell us first at contact@n8secure.co.uk and we’ll acknowledge your complaint and aim to respond within [30] days. You also have the right to complain to the ICO at any time (ico.org.uk, or 0303 123 1113).
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access.
